Shareware is a system where the author distributes his software for free, but requires that the user pay a fee if he finds it useful. Users are encouraged to send in any shareware fees requested if they find the programs of use. Public Domain ("PD") programs are released into the public domain by the author. Shareware and PD programs are distributed through user groups and computer bulletin boards. If you would like to obtain any of the products mentioned here (other than commercial ones) contact your local user group or computer bulletin board. If you need help contacting a user group, your Apple dealer should have the name of one in your area.
